Our clinic is dedicated to offering vasectomy services to all individuals with a functioning male reproductive system, aiming for a comprehensive approach to contraception. However, we suggest caution in recommending this procedure to individuals who are in their early 20s or younger who have not yet realised their familial aspirations, emphasising the importance of deliberate consideration due to the procedure's permanence. While exceptions can be accommodated based on individual assessments, we prioritise ensuring that patients are fully informed and their decisions reflect their long-term objectives. We also wish to communicate that, in certain rare circumstances, the clinic may determine that proceeding with the service may not align with the best outcome for the patient or the clinic's operational guidelines.

What Are The Next Steps?
Anyone can request an appointment. No referral needed.
Request a booking in 30 Seconds or less:
You may help your patients to request a booking, or you may ask them to request a booking themselves → visit www.TheCooperClinic.co.nz. Contact details are provided on the contact cards that you may order from us for free. Both patient and their partners may submit a request and it is not uncommon for the partners to be involved in the process.

Once the booking has been requested, one of our dedicated staff will contact the patient shortly. Our staff are well trained and able to answer questions and arrange a suitable time and location for the patient.

The patient arrives at the clinic. They will receive detailed instructions on post vasectomy care and lab testing instructions. We want to emphasise that we want our patients to be well informed and prepared. Patients may choose up to one support person to accompany them during the consultation and the procedure. We offer plenty of time to ask any remaining questions.

A post vasectomy semen analysis is performed 12 months after the procedure to confirm the success of the procedure. We will inform our patients of their lab results and explain to them what their results mean.
